Access to Care

According to the 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), lower-income individuals often face challenges getting the healthcare they need. These challenges included not having a job (which can provide health insurance), not having a car to get to medical appointments, and worrying about paying for healthcare services. Also, many people who didn’t have health insurance were under the age of 65 and couldn’t get Medicare.

Certain areas had fewer doctors and healthcare services options, especially in the southern region. This was especially true for specialized healthcare services like labor and delivery.
